Way, way, way back in January I submitted a short story (Summer’s Friend) to an online horror magazine, called Danse Macabre. I had all but written off a reply from the magazine, since it had been SEVEN MONTHS!! but to my surprise, I was contacted late last week with an email from the magazine’s editor-in-chief. My story had been accepted and went up on one of their three websites, DM Du Jour, just now.
So without further ado, follow the link to Summer’s Friend on DM Du Jour

Hey, good news! Way to go. I know it’s probably a weird situation, having it come out of the blue and coming so close to your own book launch, but it’s still a really cool step forward. Plus, it’s one of your better stories from that time. I’m a fan.
Thanks! It is kinda odd to have a story that I wrote a long time ago, get so much mileage lately. In the past few months, it was used as my first official reading, it’s my first officially published story, and it’s in my book. I guess it just goes to show that you never really write anything for nothing (if that makes sense lol), every story could end up end up somewhere.
